How it works
What happens from your first call to your report and treatment plan, and what you’ll need along the way. If anything is unclear, ask us. There are no silly questions.
Your journey with us
Times below are typical. We’ll give you exact dates when you book.
Adults: about 2 to 4 weeks to your appointment, then up to 10 working days for your report.
Children: about 2 to 4 weeks to the first session, then up to 15 working days after the final session for your report.
- Free 15-minute call Book online or call us. We’ll ask what’s been happening, explain how assessment works and check whether we’re the right service for you. If we’re not, we’ll tell you where else might help.
- Booking and payment Choose your appointment and a time that suits you, and pay securely online. We confirm everything by email straight away, including what’s included and our cancellation terms.
- Your secure patient portal You’ll get a login to complete questionnaires, upload documents such as school reports, and message our team.
- Questionnaires These cover your current difficulties, childhood, health and family history. They take about an hour in total and you can save as you go. For adults, someone who knew you as a child completes a short questionnaire too; for children, we contact school with your consent.
- Assessment by video You meet your psychiatrist on a secure video call. For adults this is about 90 minutes; for children it’s split into a parent session and a shorter session with your child.
- Report and next steps Your written report explains the outcome, how it was reached and our recommendations. With your consent, we send a copy to your GP. If ADHD is diagnosed, we talk through treatment options.
- Treatment and ongoing care If you choose treatment, we start titration with regular reviews. Once you’re stable, we ask your GP about shared care and continue to review you every year.
What you’ll need
For your assessment
- A quiet, private space where you won’t be interrupted
- A laptop, tablet or phone with a camera and microphone
- A reliable internet connection
- Photo ID, for adults and for the parent or carer of a child
- Your GP’s name and practice address
If you start medication
- A home blood pressure monitor (an automatic upper-arm monitor is best)
- Scales to check your weight
- For children, a way to measure height
- A pharmacy near you, or a delivery address for prescriptions
Adjustments we make as standard
Lots of the people we see find appointments, forms and waiting hard. We’ve built our service around that.
- Text and email reminders before every appointment, and on the day
- Questionnaires you can save and come back to
- Breaks whenever you need them, and camera off for a moment if that helps
- A written summary after appointments, so you don’t have to remember everything
- Plain-English letters, with key points first
- A named person to contact if you’re stuck or worried

Your information is safe with us
We use secure, UK-based systems for video appointments and patient records. Only the clinicians involved in your care can see your records.
We’ll only share information with your GP, school or anyone else with your consent, unless we’re worried about someone’s safety. Read our privacy policy and safeguarding policy to find out more.
Need help sooner?
We are not an emergency service. If you’re in crisis, call 999 or NHS 111 and choose the mental health option. See urgent help.
