About

Helen is a consultant psychiatrist who specialises in ADHD in adults. She assesses people aged 18 and over, including adults who are wondering about ADHD for the first time later in life.

Her assessment is a 60-minute one-to-one video appointment, after online questionnaires. Her aim is that you leave understanding the reasons for the outcome, whatever it is, and with a clear plan for what happens next. Your written report and treatment plan reach you within 48 hours of the assessment.

Experience and training

  • Medical degree and postgraduate training in psychiatry in the UK
  • Higher specialist training in general adult psychiatry
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for general psychiatry
  • Consultant experience in NHS adult mental health services, including assessing and treating adult ADHD
  • Training in structured diagnostic interviews for adult ADHD, such as the DIVA-5

Special interests

  • ADHD in women, including how life stage and hormones can change the picture
  • ADHD that is first recognised in adulthood
  • Telling ADHD apart from conditions that can look similar, such as anxiety, low mood and sleep problems, and recognising when they happen together

At ADHD Health

  • Carries out our adult ADHD assessments for people aged 18 and over
  • As medical director, is responsible for clinical governance: clinical standards, audit, peer review, and learning from incidents and complaints
  • Reviews our guides on adult topics before they’re published, in line with our editorial policy
